The 20th congress of the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM) will be held on June 30 to July 4, 2018, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Held every 3 years, ISHAM provides clinicians, scientists and students an exciting opportunity to meet at an international forum dedicated solely to the study of medical mycology. Co-hosted by the Netherland Society of Medical Mycology, the attractive scientific program spans all the hot topics in medical and clinical mycology.

For this year’s ISHAM, some of our esteemed AFWG Board Members are convening a session on “Invasive infections in Asia”. Facilitated by Professor Arunaloke Chakrabarti and Professor Ruoyu Li, the session will include presentations on: the unique features and challenges of yeast infections in the region, with a focus on Candida tropicalis (Professor Yee-Chun Chen); black mycelial fungal infection with special reference to Cladophialophora bantiana (Professor Retno Wahyuningsih); and mimic fungal infections in Asia (Dr Ariya Chindamporn).

Visit the ISHAM site for full details on the AFWG session, as well as the rest of the 5-day congress.
