The AFWG

The Asia Fungal Working Group (AFWG), an International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM) working group, is dedicated to advancing the standards of diagnosis and management of invasive fungal infections in the Asia-Pacific region.

The AFWG was founded in 2009 by a group of infectious disease and mycology experts from various Asian countries. The AFWG became a working group under ISHAM in 2010.

Mission statement

The Asia Fungal Working Group is an organization of professionals dedicated to advancing the understanding, diagnostics and management of invasive fungal infections and augmenting fungal surveillance data to support best practices in the Asia-Pacific region.

Purpose

To improve patient care and outcomes by advancing the diagnostics and clinical management of invasive fungal infections.
