Dr Methee Chayakulkeeree is associate professor at the Division of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine of the Department of Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. He is also on the Asia Fungal Working Group (AFWG) Board.

In this presentation, “Candida auris Emergence”, Dr Chayakulkeeree provides insights into the emergence of this fungal pathogen and why the appearance of the often–multidrug-resistant C. auris could be a cause for concern. He shares recommendations on how to stop its spread, such as the institution of hospital policies for the prevention and control of this infection.
